COVID-19 Conditions of Use

Ice Rentals

*These conditions are in addition to the conditions of use listed within the facility use agreement*

Access is not permitted to anyone presenting the following symptoms:

- Fever or Chills

- Difficulty Breathing or Shortness of Breath

- Cough

- Sore throat, Trouble Swallowing

- Runny Nose/Stuffy Nose or Nasal Congestion

- Decrease or Loss of Smell or Taste

- Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Abdominal Pain

- Not Feeling Well, Extreme Tiredness, Sore Muscles

 

  • Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to rental.
  • It is the rental agreement holder’s responsibility to meet their participants at the door and enter the building together. The rental agreement holder is required to track the names and contact information of each participant in their group including dates they participated. This would be provided to Public Health for contact tracing if necessary.
  • All participants and parents must follow physical distancing guidelines at all times while in the facility.
  • Face coverings are mandatory for all people entering the facility per Provincial order, however, face coverings are not required to be worn on the ice.
  • Amateur and recreational sports leagues may resume so long as they do not allow prolonged or deliberate physical contact between players.
  • Users may arrive in street clothes and get dressed in assigned dressing rooms.
  • Showers are available to all groups under the conditions that all individuals exit the building 20 minutes following their rental.  This will allow Staff the necessary time to disinfect prior to the next rental.
  • Washrooms within dressing rooms are available for use.  Physical distancing in dressing rooms is required and face coverings must be worn.
  • Users are permitted to use rooms assigned by Staff (maximum of two per group). Rink side bleachers are available for additional space if required to accommodate physical distancing.
  • Use of the score clock and sound system are both available.
  • Maximum of 22 people permitted on the ice (including instructors/goalies/ participants/officials).  Minor Sport Organizations are permitted 25.
  • Each participant under the age of 18 is allowed one person to assist them.  Physical distancing must be maintained at all times.
  • The rental agreement holder is required to share all conditions of use with each participant beforehand so the expectations of each person entering the facility is made clear.
  • Absolutely no sharing of food or drinks – each person is required to have individual water bottles properly labelled. These bottles must be spaced 2 meters apart and be properly sanitized after each practice.
  • Spitting and blowing the nose without a tissue is prohibited.
  • No loitering, all users of the facility must follow the traffic control floor plan.
  • Sharing of items is prohibited. Practice good hygiene (avoid touching your face and cover your cough or sneeze).
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Use an alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • There will be no public access to the upstairs viewing area – parents/guardians are asked to stay on the main level.
  • Each rental agreement holder is to provide their own First Aid Kit to provide first aid if/when required.
  • Helmets are mandatory for all users.
  • All equipment/training aids brought onto the ice must be cleaned/disinfected after each use.
  • Each group must submit a completed COVID Safety Plan and submit to Facilities Booking Coordinator (Andy O’Leary at aoleary@owensound.ca) no later than 24 hours prior to rental.

For the safety of all users and staff, I agree to abide by all terms and conditions listed above.

DISCLAIMER: By signing this, I acknowledge that I understand that I take responsibility for my group and will ensure that all members adhere to the requirements listed above. 

Responsibility and liability for following the above conditions lies solely on the facility rental agreement holder and the City of Owen Sound reserves the right to remove anyone not following these conditions.

Failure to comply will result in cancellation of the ice rental agreement.
